Brickhampton Mixed Open 2011
One hundred and twelve players took to the course on Sunday 18th September to take part in our annual Mixed Open competition. This included visitors from sixteen other clubs in and around the county. The weather looked a bit dubious but most of us got round with just a few squally showers and sunshine in between.
The halfway house was unbelievable! Cakes and biscuits of all kinds were creatively displayed and rapidly consumed by all those who passed through! This was thanks to the culinary skills of some of our lady members of both the Glevum and Spa courses. 'Thank you' to you all for your wonderful contribution.
Laraine and Keith Coghill had planned, organised and ran the whole event this year. Including a meal in the entry fees this year proved to be very successful. Confirmation of this was shown by the number of people who played in the competition and stayed on for the meal and for the presentation which saw the clubhouse full. The day was a brilliant success. A very big 'thank you' to Keith and Laraine for organising such a successful event. Thanks must also go to all those who helped out - Carys, Joy and Rob for helping on the registration desk and to Mary Storey and Barbara Hart for keeping the players fed and watered at the halfway house. Thanks must also go to the complex and all it's staff for providing wonderful catering and looking after everyone so well. Thanks also to the greens staff for presenting the course so well.
A superb prize table was provided with the support of sponsors, Summerfield Nursing Unit and Almanzara Group. The first prizes being a holiday for two in Spain.
